Eggs - At the beginning of the season trout full of eggs are sometimes caught. Should they be put back into the water?

Legislation bans fishing during the winter months in order to allow trout to spawn and recover. Generally they spawn between mid November and the end of January. A trout caught in March still possessing eggs will not spawn. In nearly all cases this involves stocked/released trout. You can keep them.
