Gareth
Jones sales director for BVG-AIRFLO Group PLC based at Fishtec
in Brecon, demonstrated his vast experience and knowledge
of fly tying to Ogmore Anglers, in the Conservative Club,
Bridgend, on the 7th of April 2003. Seen here with event
organizer Harry Carvil vice chairman of the Ogmore Anglers
Association Ltd, taking a well earned rest after his informative
demonstration with some liquid refreshment.
Gareth admitted that with his job he fortunately gets to
travel the world and has fished some of the best waters
each continent has to offer. With this immense experience
he has been able to incorporate many new and old ideas from
all over the world, into his fly tying.
The
demo began with a number of still water flies beautifully
crafted along with information regarding materials, nylons,
fly lines and the best knots to use. Continuing with some
of his favorite dry flies and finally weighed nymphs, ideal
for grayling fishing etc.
Once Gareth had finished his lecture we were then privy
to some of his personal fishing photographs taken on his
many global fishing trips.
For all who missed the evening, hopefully Gareth will return
with I'm sure with even more wise words and more wonderful
flies.
