The
inventor of this fly writes: I and many
others can vouch for the effectiveness of this fly
in it's original dressing and it's variants. This
season and previous seasons it has caught hundreds
of sewin. I (Mr Alun Rees) actually created the
fly several seasons ago to fish the River Neath
to cope with sewin that came short.
It was introduced to the Ogmore River by two good
friends of mine, Dai Cartwright and Dai Criddle.
Once again, it has proved extremely successful and
it was Dai Cartwright who actually named the fly
the
American Express. He reckoned that if you were fishing
for Sewin, don't leave home without it!
In fact, the fly has caught so many fish that last
season, Jonathan Jones of Trout and Salmon magazine
fame approached me and asked if he could incorporate
it into his Specialist Seatrout Selection as sold
by
Airflo and Tight Lines Direct. Although they have
named it Alun's E.A.
